Eric
has always been influenced by the States. He had spent his 16th
summer in Martha’s Vineyard with his girlfriend Robin and had
been initiated into the American East Coast lifestyle. Eric’s
affinity was more with water than lifestyle, having applied
later for marine biology at Bangor as well as dentistry. Cape
Cod had Wood’s Hole marine centre which had attracted his attention.
Eric then worked as a locum dentist 6 months a year and during
the rest travelled around Europe in a old Renault to Greece,
Turkey, Crete, Italy and France playing and writing. He then
went off to Mexico and the Bahamas and finally settling in Santa
Barbara for 18 months where he met Jim Messina. Eric sound engineered
for a club band called Spincycle doing the Californian curcuit
venues and clubs around Santa Barbara. After Eric’s father died
he returned to England to settle in Sudbury, Suffolk where he
had established his studio in a small cottage prior to his travels.
He bought dental practice and built a studio to record two albums
of his own and for various bands.
